Romain Navarrete signs contract extension

The club is delighted to announce the contract extension of Romain Navarrete, who today signed a new two-year deal.

The 31-year-old French international prop is now committed to the Dragons until the end of the 2028 season.

Trained at Pia, where he made his first appearances in the French Elite Championship, Romain Navarrete then joined Limoux before moving to the Catalans Dragons reserve team. His performances earned him an opportunity at the highest level and he made his professional debut for the Dragons in 2016.

After playing 15 Super League games in the Catalan jersey, he signed with Wigan for the 2017 season. In his second year in England, he played a key role in helping his team win the Super League title. Over four seasons with Wigan, he made 59 appearances before moving on to London Broncos and then Wakefield.

In July 2021, he joined Toulouse Olympique before returning to Perpignan in 2023, where he quickly established himself as one of the leaders of the Dragons pack.

On Saturday, the French prop is set to make his 100th Super League appearance for the club in the match against his former club at the Jean Bouin Stadium.

Romain Navarrete said: “I am very happy to continue this adventure with the Dragons. I would like to thank the fans for their unwavering support week after week. I will give everything I have to help the team win trophies over the next two seasons.”
