Giovanni Descalzi signs contract extension

Catalans Dragons are delighted to announce the contract extension of Giovanni Descalzi.

The 20-year-old French prop has signed a two-year contract extension with the club and is now tied with the Dragons until the end of the 2028 season.

A product of Toulouges, he joined the Dragons Campus in 2021. He quickly established himself in the youth ranks of St Estève XIII Catalan before making his debut for the reserve side in the Super XIII.

A hard-working and committed player, Giovanni Descalzi joined the Dragons’ training squad in 2025 while continuing to impress with the reserve side, helping them win the Coupe de France that same year.

After making his professional debut against Hull FC at Stade Gilbert Brutus last August, he has made four Super League appearances for Catalans Dragons.

Giovanni Descalzi : “I’m very happy and proud to be continuing this journey. I’d like to thank the club for their trust. I’ll keep working hard, improving and giving everything for this jersey. I can’t wait for the next two seasons!”
