Ian Dunemann appointed women team headcoach

The club is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Dunemann as Head Coach of the Women team.

A former NRL player with the North Queensland Cowboys, Dunemann brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the club’s women’s programme.

Alongside him, Jérémie Bonafos, Victoria Bobo and Camille Delprete will continue in their respective coaching and strength & conditioning roles, providing valuable continuity within the coaching staff.

After leading the team to back-to-back French Championship and French Cup doubles, Guy Campourcy has been appointed Sporting Director. In his new role, he will oversee the alignment of coaching and playing philosophy across the U17, reserve and senior teams, continuing the development and long-term structure of the women’s pathway.

We would like to sincerely thank Guy Campourcy for the outstanding work he has done over the past few seasons. His commitment and the success he has helped achieve have left a lasting mark on our club. We are delighted that he will continue this journey with us as Sporting Director.

Ian Dunemann’s arrival is a fantastic opportunity for the team. His experience at the highest level will be a tremendous asset in supporting the development of our players and helping us continue to grow our programme.

I’m incredibly proud to be joining the Dragons’ woman team. Guy Campourcy and the staff have done an outstanding job, and I’m excited to take on this challenge alongside them.

My goal is to help every player improve, encourage them to step outside their comfort zone, and give them the confidence to believe they can reach the highest level.

As a coach, I like to take risks. Sometimes they pay off, sometimes they don’t, but I fully embrace that. I’d rather see players try something new and learn from their mistakes than never dare to try at all.

We have a squad with enormous potential, and I want to build strong links with Australia to create new opportunities for our players.

Of course, we want to win trophies, but my greatest achievement would be to see players from the women team reach the highest level of the game.

If I can help even one player fulfil her dream, then I will already have achieved something truly meaningful.
