Scott Dureau joined the club in 2011 under head coach Trent Robinson. During his time with the Dragons, the Australian halfback made 89 Super League appearances, scoring 29 tries and 756 points, a tally that still ranks him as the club’s second-highest points scorer of all time.
From his very first season, he embodied the club’s resurgence and quickly established himself as one of the best players in the competition. He was named in the Super League Dream Team in both 2011 and 2012.
In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Albert Goldthorpe Medal as Super League’s Player of the Year. He also finished as the league’s top points scorer with 277 points in Super League and 319 points across all competitions – a club record that still stands in 2026.
His outstanding goal-kicking played a decisive role in one of the greatest victories in the club’s history: the unforgettable comeback at St Helens in 2012, when Scott Dureau calmly slotted the match-winning conversion after Daryl Millard’s iconic late try.
Early in 2013, his career took a dramatic turn. Following surgery, he displayed extraordinary courage and determination to return to the game. Limited to only a handful of appearances in 2013 and 2014, he made a remarkable comeback in 2015, a testament to his resilience and fighting spirit.
Voted into the Catalans Dragons Team of the Decade, Scott Dureau left an indelible mark on the club.
Beyond the numbers, Scott Dureau inspired an entire generation of supporters with his elegance on the field, instinctive play and exceptional vision. A true leader on the field, he played a pivotal role in taking the Dragons to another level. Although forced to retire prematurely, his immense talent and humility ensure he will forever be remembered as one of the greatest and most iconic players in the history of the Catalans Dragons.
